Becoming a Christian - The A,B,C’s

After you have made a commitment to Christ...
If you have given your life to Christ, the devil will try to make you doubt that God has really saved you and changed your life. The Bible says that the devil is a liar and a deceiver who only wants to destroy our lives and prevent us from enjoying all that God wants for us. (John 8:44; John 10:10) Jesus promises us that when we hear his voice and follow him 'I give them eternal life and they shall never perish; no-one can snatch them out of my hand.' (John 10:28) Three things to do after you become a Christian: 1. Tell someone – Romans 10:9 says it is important the we 'confess with our mouth' as well as 'believing in our heart'. 2. Spend time with God each day – We get to know Him better by reading His Word (Bible) and talking to Him (prayer). 3. Become a committed member of a local church. The church is the body of Christ and everyone who believes has a part to play in it (1 Corinthians 12:27). Followers of Jesus attend Church to praise God and sing to Him, to learn more about Him, to join in and be part of His family, and to serve Him – every Christian is needed to help make the Church grow. |
